Post Surgery Physique Recovery

I underwent a major surgery where I lost about 17kg (38lbs), I was extremely sick and lost all of my progress. I used about 400-600 mgs test-e every week, injecting 2-4 times a week (I know it's all over the place ). Stats 19, 184cm, 73kg current (lost a bit due to coming off when travelling). Second pic 12 July 2025, first is from 10 April this year. I wasn't on or training the whole time btw, I don't remember the exact time span.

Hi Sb!

First of all, respect for even posting this.

Most people only post when everything goes perfectly. Coming back from major surgery, losing 17 kg, watching years of work disappear, and then rebuilding is a completely different battle.

Looking at the photos, what stands out to me isn’t the amount of muscle gained, it’s how much of your structure came back. Your waist stayed tight, abs are visible again, shoulders are rounding out, and your overall shape already looks athletic instead of “someone starting over.” That’s a very good sign.

At 19 years old, I’d honestly focus less on the compounds and more on taking advantage of what your body is naturally capable of right now. The biggest variable in your progress over the next 2-3 years won’t be whether you run 400 mg or 600 mg of Test. It will be training consistency, food intake, recovery, and staying healthy after such a major medical event.

A few things I’d love to know:

What surgery did you have?
How much do you weigh in the before photos?
How long have you been back training consistently?
What are your current calories and daily protein?
What are your strength numbers now compared to before surgery?

From the photos alone, I’d say you’re rebuilding much faster than you probably think you are. The hardest part after a major setback is not rebuilding muscle, it’s rebuilding confidence. Muscle usually comes back quicker than people expect.

Keep updating this one. The comeback stories are always more interesting than the easy bulk stories.
