I recently did a 300 test e cycle first cycle 16 weeks wanted to push longer but blood pressure got to 142/90 not good I’ve been off the test for a month and a half these are my levels. I would like to continue the test after my natural testosterone has gotten a bit higher and increase the dose to 500mg with telmisartan. I know this might be stupid too due to prior bp issues but I’ve also got some eq at 300mg. My resting heart rate almost doubled so I had to pull the cycle really every time I bent over felt like my head was gonna explode. I wish I could show you my bloodwork on cycle but I didn’t get it done 😭 I heavily regret my decision and shall do everything right who knows if it’s too late bloods say otherwise.

Hi CoolTren!

Honestly, the most important thing in this post is not the testosterone number. It’s the fact that your body clearly did not tolerate the cycle well from a cardiovascular standpoint.

A resting heart rate that nearly doubled, blood pressure reaching 142/90, headaches when bending over, and feeling like your head was going to explode are not minor side effects. Those are the kind of signals that should make you stop and investigate before thinking about the next cycle.

Looking at the bloodwork now:
  • Total testosterone 13.7 nmol/L is low-normal and not surprising only 6 weeks after coming off a 16-week cycle.
  • Free testosterone is still low.
  • LH 3.5 and FSH 5.1 are actually encouraging. Your pituitary appears to be waking up and sending signals again.
  • Estradiol is low-normal.
  • Prolactin looks fine.
  • LDL at 1.92 mmol/L is good.
So from a recovery standpoint, I’d say your HPTA is moving in the right direction.

What I would not do is look at this bloodwork and conclude “great, let’s run 500 mg Test plus 300 mg EQ next.”

If you had severe BP and heart-rate issues on 300 mg Test alone, adding EQ is the last thing I’d be excited about. EQ is notorious for increasing RBC, hematocrit and blood viscosity in susceptible people, which can make exactly those symptoms worse.

Personally, before even considering another blast, I’d want:
  • Multiple weeks of normal blood pressure.
  • Resting heart rate back to baseline.
  • Full CBC including hematocrit and hemoglobin.
  • Lipids.
  • Kidney markers.
  • An echocardiogram if those symptoms were truly severe.
The biggest lesson here isn’t that you forgot on-cycle bloodwork. It’s that your body gave you very loud feedback and you listened before things got worse.

Give yourself more recovery time. Let testosterone continue climbing naturally. Figure out why you reacted so strongly at 300 mg before assuming telmisartan will magically allow 500 mg plus EQ.

You may discover the issue wasn’t the blood pressure itself. The blood pressure was probably the symptom. The real question is what caused it. That’s what I’d want answered before the next cycle.
