Nice thread. I started with subcutaneous, and out of curiosity I've recently tried intramuscular. One thing I'm curious about: after injecting (whichever way), there is nothing, it feels as if the liquid is happily scurrying away into my bloodstream and circulating. Then half a day or a day later I get the small bump with the minor itch, and it feels as if the liquid was there forming the bump. My question is: has the liquid spread around already, (it certainly feels so as everything is normal there after injecting), and is this bump only from inflammation..., or is the liquid really taking days to get dissolved, but, in this case, where was it before forming the bump? So basically my question is, if the oil is slowly spreading from the lump, where was it before the lump is formed?

What you feel right after injecting is pretty much correct. The oil is already sitting in the tissue and starting to disperse. It doesn’t “travel around” like water in a pipe, it just slowly diffuses from where you placed it.
That bump that shows up later isn’t the oil suddenly appearing. It’s your body reacting to it. Mild inflammation, a bit of local irritation, sometimes the solvent, sometimes just the tissue saying “what’s this doing here”.
So the oil was there the whole time. The bump is just your body noticing it a bit later.
Subq tends to show this more because the space is tighter and less vascular. IM usually spreads better, so you notice it less.
In short, nothing mysterious going on. The oil doesn’t disappear and come back. Your body just reacts on a delay.
